So I'm totally lost on how you unlock some characters...
Sonic says you have to beat SSE, or play 300 vs matches to unlock him. My friends and I played -maybe- 40 last night and unlocked him...same with Ness.
Is there anywhere that gives the accurate ways to unlock characters? Or did I just somehow break my game?

I've read that one of the alternatives to unlock him is running a certain distance (game keeps track of how far you run, swim etc.).

You can get Sonic by completing Classic with 10 characters, and Ness by reflecting 10 projectiles

Fastest way to get all chars is to enter special brawl mode, set it to stamina and put a flower on your heads, set stage select to auto-random, set the computer stamina to 1, and spam start. Flower will make the comp die at the start of every fight. Took about 2-3hours for me to unlock everyone.

or you could suicide 1-stock matches to the same effect, probably faster cause no slow-mo deaths that stamina has

If you just skip scenes/evade all the enemies in SSE you could finish it in about 3 hours and change y'know >_>

Honestly when people say "he's fast" theyre not trying to be coy, it's really all there is to him. Not a bad character, but his foot speed is what stands out.

He's ok, for people who enjoy the faster paced characters. He's a bit too fast for my liking, I'm more of a fan of slower/stronger characters (Snake, Marth etc)

Sonic is the absolute best character to run around picking items up with. If this was Super Pick Up Items Brawl, Sonic would be your man.

I'm playing through Adventure hoping to unlock all the characters this way and I just got to the part where a R.O.B. waves goodbye to the Ancient guy. Now I feel sad for it lol, that was seriously fucked up. The whole nodding and then blowing themselves up

Yea I beat Classic Mode with Link and no Toon Link was unlocked, then I heard SSE had to be cleared first.
Btw, if Zelda got "trophy-ed" in the first stage on SSE by Wario will I still be able to get Ganondorf later on?

After playing SSE to 93% then getting my ass handed to me 3 times by Jigglypuff, I gave up and unlocked Jigglypuff through events. Funnily enough you still have to fight him. Dur.
Oh well, he was my last character
