This trailer just came up on digg and it's the first time I've even heard of it. Doesn't look half bad, I just hope this isn't gonna turn into a recurring thing in Hollywood that they need to have a first person perspective for every film genre.

Usually I don't care that much about remakes but this one is kind of a new step in blatantly copying so worthy of posting. I think the only movies this year that are really entertaining so far are Iron Man, Cloverfield (I liked the virals and hype mostly though I guess.) and the film the Coen brothers made but which title I can't seem to remember. (If that's even from this year...) Couldn't really think of anything else.

When I saw REC (The spanish version of this film.) last year it was awesome. If you love zombie films and wanted to slash your eyes out at Diary of the death, this is what you are waiting for. An instant classic. Also, I'd be inclined to put it somewhere on top of the list of scariest films ever made.

When I see this trailer though it's sad how obvious it is that this is a rip-of. Angles, setting, basic storyline, ending of the fucking film (wtf?). Some of the props and stages even look the same. (Think the floor in the main hall is the same, and from what I saw the initial house they enter has the same layout.)

As I said, I'm not against remakes. If the initial movie was cool, there might be a chance to enjoy it in a different film makers vision. If you rip the entire original from beginning to end just to add english voices...

I agree and when I went to see Funny Games the remake, I wasn't all that impressed with the film at all. I haven't found time to watch the German original quite yet but everyone that I've talked to believes that the original is far superior to the English version.
Oh and I managed to get my hands on [REC] and I fucking love this movie.
Edit: I almost forgot, fuck Diary of the Dead. What a piece of shit movie.

Just finished [REC] and have to say, it is probably one of my favorite horror films to date. It really is an awesome blend of Saw II, 28 Days Later, and Cloverfield. Just took all the best elements and put them into one movie.

In the Saw with the guy that was chained up and he ripped out both his tendons, I about vomited from knowing how ungodly painful it must have been. Any more good zombie foreign films I may not know about? I don't know why but recenty I have fallen in love with the Zombie Horror genre and cannot seem to get enough of it.

Check out "Bloody Digusting," they review nothing but horror flicks from all over the place. It's good to find trailers and then decide if it's worth the dl. Apparently there's an upcoming French movie "Martyrs" that sounds pretty good. Haven't seen anything good lately eh.

All the lights are out in the penthouse at the top of the building where the girl who started the infection's emaciated corpse is walking around blindly (no lights) the only person left is the main character and she is laying on the floor looking for the night vision camera to try and get out I would guess. You hear a creepy fucking scream and she is drug backwards very fast. Roll credits.

Remake looks meh though, the actress doesn't look like she can deliver like the spanish chick did.
Though, I'm a little biased, because the original spanish reporter was kindda hot :D
